Top 10 Best Game of Thrones characters
There’s still almost a year left until the release of Game of Thrones’ 8th Season. As we patiently await for it to hit HBO’s schedule, all we can do is reminisce about the characters and maybe watch back a few of the older episodes as we set our minds up for the task for predicting what on Earth could happen in Westeros now that the show is coming to a close.
What characters could play key roles during the 8th season? Maybe some of the fan favorites? In any case, let us take a look at the best Game of Thrones characters that we’ve seen so far.
Apart from a strategic mastermind and the murderer of one of the most influential characters of the show, Tyrion is actually one of funniest characters in the show. Having him siding with Daenerys is one of the best things that have happened in the show so far, and we can’t wait to see the future that awaits our small friend.
Jon Snow could easily be the most recognizable Game of Thrones character in the entire series. No other character has had such an influence in the show, going as far as dying and coming back to life again. His alliance with Daenerys at the end of Season 7 definitely has us on the edge of our seats!
The evolution of Daenerys’ personality is nothing short of remarkable. The way she started the show as her brother’s “gateway to the throne” evolved into an influential character capable of influencing the mighty Khal Drogo. She’s well on her way to claiming the crown, but the question still remains: will she do it?
Ramsay is probably the most hated TV character of all time, given the popularity of Game of Thrones. His actions are nothing short of vile, and the way he treated Theon is one of the cruelest character denigrations in TV history. The character is portrayed incredibly well by Iwan Rheon - big props to him for bringing such an amazing character to our screens.
Brienne of Tarth
Although Brienne isn’t one of the main characters of the show, her involvement with the Stark family made her one of the fans’ most loved characters. She is one of the strongest warriors in Westeros, and her noble heart definitely made her a faithful servant to both Arya and Sansa alike.
The Lannisters are usually the focus point of all hate, but the characters are developed magnificently. In fact, given how everyone tends to hate Cersei and rejoice in her pain, she might’ve even surpassed Jeoffrey as the most hated Lannister character in the show.
Not all Lannisters are as bad as they look. Jaime started the show as a hated character with his infamous “intimate” scene with his sister, but soon grew to become a character that honored his code, in both victory and defeat alike. His relationship with Brienne was swiftly developed as well, which did nothing but help his character.
The innocent Arya turned into an assassin in what seems like just a fortnight. Her training showed exactly what was needed for the young girl to mature into a revenge-seeking assassin, whose task of murdering everyone who wronged her family gets closer to completion with each episode that passes.
Lord Varys, the man who knows everything. Varys is probably one of the weirdest characters in the show, but his influence in everything that happens in Westeros is enormous. His actions rival those of Lord Baelish, whom some may call his friend, but others view as his political rival.
Jorah’s love for Daenerys has made him do a plethora of different things, but every single one of them has revolved around the future of the Dragon Queen. He might not be the strongest character in the show, but he is, perhaps, the most loyal out of them all.
